There is no such thing as a typical CV layout. Indeed, there are a great many CV layouts, and a multitude of CV templates available.

Another thing to remember is that there is not even a common agreement on what is the best CV layout. Some are long and cluttered with many different sections. On the other hand, some are shorter and more selective.

The general consensus is that more selective, concise, legible and presentable layouts are better, and for several reasons.
